Abstract

A hybrid technique using two stochastic algorithms, Firefly and BAT algorithm has been proposed, called HFABA. It has been used to obtain the kinematics solution of six degrees of freedom (DOF) manipulator. The errors present in kinematics solution and energy consumed during the movement of joints from one location to another has been optimized. The main errors are position error and absolute error. An optimization algorithm can give good results for one variable, but cannot provide desired results for all the variables in the kinematics solution. The errors and energy consumption has been minimized using HFABA. HFABA have been proposed to optimize the desired results.
