Abstract

Today many people in Iraq and around the world are suffering from a disability. This research will make their life easier, by using a simple hand gesture to control their wheelchair, where their hand is connected wirelessly to the chair. By using an Arduino as a microcontroller, an accelerometer (Gyroscope) as a sensor, and a wireless module for transmitting and receiving signals. To help move the wheelchair from one place to another just by giving simple gesture direction from the hand (i.e., moving the hand to the right to move the wheelchair to the right and so on.) As a result, we implement a wheelchair controlled by a simple hand motion, at low cost using inexpensive components, easy to repair, uses low power with high performance.
